Notes. Abstract art is a type of art that does not depict things from the visible
world. As Denis progressed towards abstraction in bronze he produced a series
of works that described an aspect of form and movement. Examining an abstract
work
of
art without a title requires more thought than one with a title or hook. The
title directs the viewer towards what the artist was trying to achieve in the
work. Here 'Standing Form' is clearly a figure or form standing. But that is
my interpretation of the work using the title Denis gave it. As Denis's work
and
expertise developed the titles ascribed to a work, in my subjective opinion,
took on both a randomness and specific reference to a place depending on the
work.
